EYE CARE

Yearly eye check-ups allow us to evaluate how well you are seeing and to look for early signs of disease or damage. Early examinations are critical to maintaining your vision. Our comprehensive 10 point eye health checkup includes:

• Evaluation of your current spectacle's performance
• Dilated exam of the eye interior - the part that does the actual seeing. This test can reveal diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, arteriolar sclerosis (hardening of the arteries), etc. We can do early detection for retina diseases such as macular degeneration in order to begin early treatment.
• Neurological eye tests with pupillary responses
• Peripheral vision tests for detection of eye or neurological diseases
• Glaucoma detection tests
• Bromicroscopy evaluation of lids, tear film (dry eye), and diseases at the front of the eye (such as cataracts)
• Eye coordination test to track how well the eyes work as a team
• Auto-refraction for current prescription estimation. This is used as a starting measurement for a new spectacle prescription.
• Evaluations and testing for near-vision (for tasks such as computer work, long term reading, desk work)
• Eyescreen photographic examination - a high resolution screening photo of the retina, macula and optic nerve to help us document, review and compare

   

   

  We accept patients as young as 4 years old. Emergency visits are available as quickly as possible. Non-emergencies visits are available by appointment.
   

• GLAUCOMA SCREENING AND MANAGEMENT - "The Silent Thief of Sight" can be detected and treated early before it damages the optic nerve and leads to blindness. Our regular examination includes a quick, pain-free test to check you for glaucoma as well as advanced testing if glaucoma is suspected.

   

   

• RETINAL IMAGING - Using specialized equipment, we are able to image the back of your eye, allowing us to detect and monitor your eyes for diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal holes or defects, optic nerve abnormalities and other serious conditions.

   

   

• OCULAR DISEASE AND INJURY - minor injuries and eye infections can seriously threaten your eyesight. Dr. Templeton can diagnose and treat many eye diseases and provide appropriate referrals to specialists, if necessary.

   

   

• CO-MANAGEMENT OF LASIK AND CATARACT SURGERY - Dr. Templeton partners with the best eye surgeons in the area to provide you with the best care possible. Dr. Templeton will perform all of the pre-operative and post-operative care while the area surgeon performs the actual operation.

  We have up-to-date equipment so that we can provide you with quality optical technology in a short time frame. We can have your glasses made precisely to your specifications. We fix all frames, even those not purchased in our office. We offer fast service and at times can have glasses available in an hour.

  CONTACT LENSES

   

  We offer many varieties of contact lenses: daily disposable, frequent replacement, 30 day extended wear, bifocal, contacts for astigmatism and rigid gas permeables. Our extensive fitting and follow-up provides the patient with the best fitting lenses for each person's individual eye needs. We offer a guaranteed contact lens success program. Each first time contact lens wearer is automatically enrolled in our contact lens class. We have many contacts in stock in the office.

  EYEGLASS FRAMES

   

  Our extensive collection of designer frames contains a wide variety of styles to satisfy a range of individual tastes. We offer a 2 year exclusive warranty on most frames (the rest covered by a 1 year warranty). We have a no-hassle frame exchange if you are unsatisfied with your frame style.

  LENSES

   

  Our high quality lenses enhance the wearer's vision over ordinary standard lenses. Our selection includes single vision, flat top bifocals, progressive(no-line bifocal) and trifocals. We offer a variety of features such as anti-glare, scratch cote and transitions (darken in sunlight). Many of our frame styles offer sun clips to fit. Our prescription sunglasses can be made with polarization to combat the sun's glare. We have a 2 year warranty on most of our lenses (the rest are 1 year warranty).
